In 1966, a new concern about drug inferences in rock 'n' roll lyrics arose. Some music started new fads, such as the smoking of dried banana peels as a result of Mellow Yellow. Interpretations of lyrics varied widely in both Eight Miles High and the Association's Along Comes Mary, an alleged ode to marijuana. In contrast to these somewhat controversial songs, the year also produced some big soul dance hits. \n
