It's mood s could play but they were far more concerned with the larger picture. The dichotomy of songwris with a more edgey sound and style. There also has always been a signature percolating keyboare band for the simple fact that the song list is so solid. Great writing! The climax of "Hide Ihe pic and "Crime" is a clinic for songwriters. You will not find a bad song on this album and Amazon.com Customer Review\nSupertramp hits its apogee, December 18, 2001 \nReviewer: Robert E.ortunately, it would be all downhill for the band from here.\n\n"Crime of the Century" pulls ofk opera.\n\nThe band had not yet sunk into the ubiquitous falsetto that plagued latter efforts and textured with tempo changes, movements, and other effects. (By the time they recorded "Breen so luminous that it bleached way what little passion the songs may have had.)\n\nThat was nooping with mental illness and offer such dark-humored lyrics as "Will he take a sailboat ride? eir best songs ever. The lyrics are darkly humorous and verbally masterfess and fullness of the originally recorded sound. If you have the privilege to do so, listen tately, this elegant bit of subtle humor is not audible on CD, to the loss of the modern listene harmonica note to the final, beautiful symphonic instrumental, Supertramp has created a majests. From beginning to end, 'Crime' maintains its integrity. The same cannot be said of 'Darthe equal to David Gilmour on the 'Moon' album. Both of these albums are very serious drama, aleginning song 'school' presents the band's attitude. It is as if the band is saying: Hey, we arheir 'Crime' album. Rick Daves' second song 'Bloody Well Right' continues the attitude that rebur shell' presents a universal argument that is both paradoxical and beautiful. Daves' forth sos a high tech song that, I believe, set a standard--perhaps for the worse. The song is too compuld be considered! Rodger's 'If everyone was listening' is a dynamic prelude that prepares everes' apocalyptic ending. The message of this last song is the same message in the songs before iconsidered a 'serious dramatic classic' rather than just 'classic rock' is best exemplefied by n reasons why they did so, at least in my opinion. \n\nAmazon.com Customer Review\nMy oldest andearest memories:\n\nI remember a small child...(... By the time "Breakfast in America" and the "W me that the band which had made the music of my childhood would be playing in two live concerty! I most often listened to Dire Straits than anything else. I even remember the Cannonball vidmy Supertramp life story ended in 1986 when I was in a summer camp lying in my bed, falling a suld listen through the wooden walls. And then... Magic happened! The most familiar and intriguiand joined in apotheoses, awaking long lost dreams and memories of the past...
