Cigarettes was the second album for this Toronto band featuring John Gibb (Guitar / Vocals), Toby Swann (Guitar / Vocals), Jasper (Bass / Vocals) and Patric Mooney (Drums).\n\nComing on the heels of their debut album Battered Wives, the band was forced to change their name in order to secure a deal with Epic.\n\nThe album sold only 5,500 copies despite its predecessor going gold with sales of over 50,000. The silver lining was a Juno Award in recognition of Rodney Bowes' album graphics art.\n\nThe group would gain its freedom from Epic and would record one more LP, Live On Mother's Day for Ready Records. Sadly, the LP has not made it to CD.
