Billy Ocean
Suddenly (Japanese Pressing) (1984)
Suddenly (Japanese Pressing)\n1984 Arista Records, Inc.\n\nOriginally Released 1984\nCD Edition Released July 26, 1989\n\nAMG EXPERT REVIEW: Billy Ocean vaulted into international stardom with this album in 1984. The album peaked at number nine, was on the charts for over a year and a half, and yielded three R&B hits that were all also pop smashes. Ocean would sing on the soundtrack for the film The Jewel Of The Nile, make sellout appearances around the world, and appear regularly on television and videos. At this point he was a bigger pop star than R&B artist, as two of his three hits did better as crossover vehicles than R&B tunes. -- Ron Wynn\n\nAmazon.com Customer Review\nPrincess Suzie's favorites, July 13, 2003\nReviewer: Suzie Mundy (Gilroy, California United States) \nI really really love the cd so so much! I like every songs on every track. I have three that's definitly my favorite in the whole wide world! The first one "Caribbean Queen" has every sensual side to it but I don't know that much about that song that is the only thing I know. The second song "Dancefloor" makes wanna get out on the dancefloor to groove all night long, it has a lot of energy and it really picks you up out of your seat-it keeps you movin' all night long. The third song, last but not least, "Suddenly" it has a magical ring to it when you listen to Billy when he sings and listening to the instruments it's like when you see an orchestra playing it sounds beautiful\nthat song is very very beautiful. There is an experience to that song is that you start to believe in a impossible dream of a magical moment to reveal the real you of who you are and who you can be is to believe in your dreams and yourself that you really do live with a real fairy tale life-I went through that in the year 1983 when I was 5 years old when I saw the movie "Cinderella" the very first time that made me think I wanna be like her a princess, now, I'm 25 years old! Now I know that dreams suddenly do come true all the time it's like when you look at miracle some kind of gift of who you wanna be-that song really means a lot to me but also everbody too as long as our dreams succeeds forever. I recommend this cd to everyone out there who are a big Billy Ocean fan like me. \n\nAmazon.com Customer Review\nAn 80's classic, January 9, 2001\nReviewer: duggalolly (beyond the waterfall) \nBilly Ocean fused R&B/soul with pop/rock and ended up with an excellent album. "Carribean Queen" and "Loverboy" are both must-have 80's hits, and this album is the best place to hear them, because the versions here are much longer than the radio edits on his greatest hits CD! But then again, every song on this album is great, and the heartfelt cover of the Beatles' "Long and Winding Road" should win over people who don't normally appreciate 80's music. But if you are a fan of the 80's, you definitely need this album, and if you aren't, get it anyway! \n\nTowerRecords.com Product Notes:\nProducer: Keith Diamond\nEngineer: Bryan New\n\nPersonnel: Billy Ocean (vocals); Eddie Martinez, Vic Linton, Geoff Whitehorn, Clarence Brice (guitar); Jeff Smith (saxophone); Barry Eastmond (keyboards, synthesizers); Timmy Allen (bass); Terry Silverlight (drums); Tony Maroni (percussion); Keith Diamond (synth bass); Curtis King, Cindy Myzelle, Chrissie Faith, Lisa Fischer, Meekaeel M., Stevie Lange, Katie Kisson, Keith Diamond (background vocals). \n
