It's a fun if not a very substantial way to spend 20-some minutes, and it shows what Jan & Dean could do when they weren't stretching their creative muscles very hard or far. Reissued in 1996 by One Way paired off with the much superior Jan & Dean Take Linda Surfin'. -- Bruce Eder\n\n\nAMAZON.COM CUSTOMER REVIEW (Capitol/EMI 2fer Edition)\nI'm floored., March 30, 2007 \nBy Johnny Heering "trivia buff" (Bethel, CT United States)\nRide the Surf was released in August of 1964. Most of the songs are about surfing, not surprisingly. The chart singles off of this album were "Ride the Wild Surf" (#16) and "Sidewalk Surfin'" (#25). Those are great songs, and some other very good ones are "Tell 'Em I'm Surfin'", "She's My Summer Girl" and the hilarious "The Submarine Races". There are two instrumentals; "Skateboarding Part 1" and "Walk on the Wet Side". This is a fun album that is one of Jan & Dean's best. \n\nThe Little Old Lady From Pasadena was released in September of 1964. Most of the songs are either about summer or cars. The chart singles off of this album were "The Little Old Lady (From Pasadena)" (#3), "The Anaheim, Azusa and Cucamonga Sewing Circle, Book Review and Timing Association" (#77) and ... "Sidewalk Surfin'" again. Instead of putting "Sidewalk Surfin'" on the CD twice, they added an alternate mix of "The Little Old Lady", which features some extra lyrics instead of the harmonica solo that plays during the bridge. Some other very good songs here are "Horace, The Swingin' School Bus Driver", "Summer Means Fun" and the hilarious "One-Piece Topless Bathing Suit". There are two instrumentals; "Old Ladies Sedom Power Shift" and "Skateboarding Part 2". I probably should explain that the two versions of "Skateboaring" are basically the same, but the melody of "Part 1" is played on a surf guitar and the melody of "Part 2" is played on a harmonica. In both cases, the melody is based on the French children's song "Fr
