Time-Life Music: Classic Rock 1967: Shakin' All Over (1967)
(c)1989 Time-Life Books Inc.\n\n1967 was a year of many milestones and major events which defined popular music and evoked the idea that rock is a progressive art form. The year also produced many controversial songs such as Bobbie Gentry's Ode to Billie Joe and Janis Ian's ballad Society's Child. Other songs expressed the theme of belief in peace and love as the path to world harmony as did Keith's 98.6. Some of the music produced at this time had no such underlying theme, but was simply created as dance music, such as the Fantastic Johnny C's Boogaloo Down Broadway. \n
