I think Peggy Lee is the greatest, and I never thought \nI'd say this about ANY effort of hers, but this album is God awful. Her \nvocals (as always) are inspired, but the material is the pits, and her \nrecordings of Asian "poetry" to harp accompanyment are toe-curlingly embarassing \n-- what was the lady THINKING? Try a cheap pressing first (if you must) \nand then ask yourself, "Do I REALLY want to hear this material more clearly?" \n\n\nAmazon.com Customer Review\nMuchBetter Sound Quality with Japanese CD"s, March 9, 2000 \nReviewer: KARTA IGLESIAS from Ithaca, New York , USA \nYes it's true folks! ,there Truely is a"MuchBetter" Sound Quality with \nthe Japanese CD"s.I bought both version's (Japanese+ MCA"s)of Peggy Lee's \n"Dream Street",and was astounded at the difference. The Japanese version \nwas Quieter(LessTape Hiss),and Mixed Down better(Louder signal),and the \nDetail of the singing and general instruments Quality were simply Astounding. \nThe reason i'm stating these facts about "Dream Street"is because I recently \nheard the Japanese version of "Sea Shells",and it was more of the Same \nAmazing Quality Again . Look I know it's quite alot of $ to pay double \nfor cd's but it happens to be quite worth it ! For the LEE fans that do \nnot know this album it is not a Jass album at all .More it is an album \nof Totally Beautiful Folk tunes even some Chinese ones accompanied by \na stunning harpist background and Ms. LEE's voice .She actually wrote \nsome of the songs and they are excellant as well, totally serene and Spatial \n. Once in a while a total classic Gem comes around and not too many people \nsee or hear of it much less hear of the different versions of the cd etc.\n\nthis one's even more Rare because it is a Limited- -Edition .So many people \nwill say"WoW ! "I would have loved to buy that cd ".Oh well maybe next \ntime ! ... The problem is that the Record took about 40 years to resurfice \nAgain ,,,I just did not want to wait Another 40 years, Thank You !for \nRE-Pressing this Sound Gem stone ,Sincerely Karta Iglesias\n\nkarta@kartamusic.com \n\n
