Dudana Mazmanishvili was born in Tbilisi, Georgia, in 1980.\nHer mother, Tamar Apakidze, started giving her piano lessons when she was three years old. At the age of six she was accepted by the Central Music School for Talented Children in Tbilisi.\nDudana's concert debut took place at the age of eight, when she performed Mozart's piano Concerto in F Major KV 37 with the Georgian State Orchestra. At the age of 14 she played Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra. Since then she has performed regularly in Germany, USA, Russia, France, Poland and Italy. Among her highlights were a solo recital in the Max-Joseph-Saal of the Munich Residenz, which was recorded by the Bavarian Radio and subsequently broadcast several times in Germany, and also her performance at the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatorie, Moscow in 2002.\nSince 1998 Dudana has been a student of Prof. Elisso Wirssaladze at the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater in Munich.\nDudana has won first prizes and a number of awards at international piano competitions in Lithuania, Italy, France, USA, and Russia. One of her outstanding successes in 2002 was the prestigious Nicolai Rubinstein International Competition in Paris which she won.\nFor four consecutive years Dudana was awarded the annual Honorary Prize of President Eduard Schevardnadze for talented young Georgians.\nAmongst many other performances in 2003 Dudana played Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3 with the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie. On this occasion the German newspaper Westfalische Allgemeine Zeitung described her as a "soloist who captured the soul of the music" ... "(she) captivated the audience with her sensitive poetic sound" ... "she plays with bravura and great virtuosity."\nIn 2004 Dudana is scheduled to perform Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 and a number of piano recitals in the United States, Poland, Italy, Georgia and Germany.\nIn 2001, the Suddeutsche Zeitung praised her "controlled and technically unrestricted" piano-playing, full of "soul and mature conviction", where "the beautiful term 'composure' triumphs over all."
