- Scottish National Orchestra - Early one morning Peter opened the gate and went out into the big green meadow. (01:05)
- Scottish National Orchestra - On a branch of a big tree sat a little bird, Peter's friend. 'All is quiet, all is quiet,' chirped the bird gaily. (01:41)
- Scottish National Orchestra - Just then a duck came waddling around. She was glad that Peter hadn't closed the gate and decided to take a nice swim in the deep pond in the meadow. (01:07)
- Scottish National Orchestra - Seeing the duck, the little bird flew down upon the grass, settled net to her and shrugged his shoulders. (00:17)
- Scottish National Orchestra - 'What kind of a bird are you if you can't fly?' said he. To this the duck replied:'What kind of a bird are you if you can't swim?' and dived into the pond. (00:41)
- Scottish National Orchestra - They argued and argued, the duck swimming in the pond and the little bird hopping along the shore. (00:20)
- Scottish National Orchestra - Suddenly, something caught Peter's attention. It was a cat crawling throught the grass. (00:34)
- Scottish National Orchestra - The cat thoght:'The bird is busy arguing; I'll just grab him!' Stealthily she crip toward him on her velvet paws. (00:29)
- Scottish National Orchestra - 'Look out!' shouted Peter, and the bird immediately flew up int the tree, (00:16)
- Scottish National Orchestra - while the duck quacked angrily at the cat, (00:09)
- Scottish National Orchestra - from the middle of the pond. (00:19)
- Scottish National Orchestra - The cat walked round the tree andthought: 'Is it worth climbing up so high? By the time I get there the bird will have flown away.' (00:18)
- Scottish National Orchestra - Just then Grandfather came out. He was angry because Peter had gone into the meadow. 'It is a dangerous place. If a wolf should caome out of the forest, then what would you do?' (01:10)
- Scottish National Orchestra - But Peter paid no attention to his grandfather's words. Boys like Peter aren't afraid of wolves! (00:33)
- Scottish National Orchestra - But Grandfather took Peter by the hand, locked the gate and led him home. (00:40)
- Scottish National Orchestra - No sooner had Peter gone than a big grey wolf came out of the forest. (01:16)
- Scottish National Orchestra - In a twinkling the cat climbed up the tree. (00:28)
- Scottish National Orchestra - The duck quacked and, in her excitement, jumped out of the pond. (00:15)
- Scottish National Orchestra - But no matter how hard the tried to run, she couldn't escape the wolf. He was getting nearer and nearer, catching up with her. (00:16)
- Scottish National Orchestra - And then he got her, and with one gulp, swallowed her. (01:00)
- Scottish National Orchestra - And now, this is how things stood: the cat was sitting on one branch, (00:22)
- Scottish National Orchestra - the bird on another, (00:09)
- Scottish National Orchestra - not too close to the cat. (00:26)
- Scottish National Orchestra - And the wolf walked round and round the tree looking tat them with greedy eyes. (00:49)
- Scottish National Orchestra - In the meantime Peter, without the slightest fear, stood behind the closed gate watching all that was going on. (00:21)
- Scottish National Orchestra - He ran home, got a strong rope and climbed up the high stone wall. (00:12)
- Scottish National Orchestra - One of the branches of the tree around whichthe wolf was walking strectched over the wall. (00:21)
- Scottish National Orchestra - Grabbing hold of the branch, (00:12)
- Scottish National Orchestra - Peter lightly climber over onto the tree. (00:13)
- Scottish National Orchestra - Peter said to the bird: 'Fly down and circle around the wolf's head, only take care that he doesn't catch you.' (00:32)
- Scottish National Orchestra - The bird almost touched the wolf's head with his wings, while the wolf snapped angrily at him from this side and that. (00:40)
- Scottish National Orchestra - How that bird teased the wolf! How that wolf wanted to catch him! But the bird was too clever and the wolf simply couldn't do anyting about it. (00:28)
- Scottish National Orchestra - Meanwhile, Peter made a lasso, carefully letting it down, and down and down, (00:22)
- Scottish National Orchestra - caught the wolf by the tail and pulled with all his might. (00:15)
- Scottish National Orchestra - Feeling himself caught, the wolf began to jump wildly, trying to get loose. (00:37)
- Scottish National Orchestra - But Peter tied the other end of the rope to the tree, (00:18)
- Scottish National Orchestra - and the wolf's jumping only made the rope round his tail tighter (00:39)
- Scottish National Orchestra - Just then, (00:09)
- Scottish National Orchestra - the hunters came out of the woods (00:09)
- Scottish National Orchestra - following the wolf's trail and shooting as they went. (01:16)
- Scottish National Orchestra - But Peter, sitting in the tree, said: 'Don't shoot! Birdie and I have already caught the wolf. Now, help us take him to the zoo.' (00:50)
- Scottish National Orchestra - Now., just imagine (00:06)
- Scottish National Orchestra - the triumphat procession: (00:15)
- Scottish National Orchestra - Peter at the head, (00:39)
- Scottish National Orchestra - after him the hunters leading the wolf, (00:59)
- Scottish National Orchestra - and winding up the procession, Grandfather and the cat. Grandfather shook his head discontentedly. 'Well, and if Peter hadn't caught the wolf, what then? (01:09)
- Scottish National Orchestra - Above them flew Birdie chirping merrily. 'What fine fellows we are, Peter and I. Look what we have caught!' (00:27)
- Scottish National Orchestra - And if one listened very carefully, they could hear the duck quacking inside the wolf, because the wolf, in his hurry, had swallowed her alive! (00:56)
