Musica Aeterna Bratislava Georg Muffat - Concerto Grossi, Nos. 1-6 (1993)
Recorded at the Moyzes Hall of the Slovak Philharmonic fro 13th - 15th February, 1993.\n\n"Muffats's twleve Concerti Grossi were written for court entertainment. The titles given to each \nof the works in the set are believed to refer to the occasions of the first performance and have no \nbearing upon the music itself. Muffat's importance as a composer of the baroque period lies in his \nextraordinary synthesis of the French and Italian styles, as exemplified by Lully and Corelli. In Muffat's\nconcertos the first two movements are written in the Italian style, while the remainder consist of dances,\nreflecting the French courtly influence." YEAR: 1993
This classical cd contains 30 tracks and runs 54min 54sec.
