Lord of the Rings and Star Wars similarities, origins and parallels

Have you seen Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Lord of the Rings II - The Two Towers lately? Then you might have noticed some similarities between these two movies. There are 'clone armys' and strange little creatures (Gollum and Yoda) both have John Williams for music and a sword is the weapon of choice.
Read my short list of similarities for a Cylist-like fast-fact comparison. Have fun!

I'v always thought Starwars was highly influenced by JR Tolkiens trilogy - back in 1977 and seeing the Starwar movies. That was long before The Lord of the Rings movies

Wtf Gandalf throwing his hood back revealing himself? He never done that... I think you mistake comparing LOTR... Star Wars compares better with a porn movie where the nameless porn star throws off his pants and reveals his manhood. IDIOT!

Comparing two movies because they have the same actor? (Christopher Lee)

So are you implying that X-Men and LOTR have similarities? (Gandalf and Magneto:Ian McKellen) And perhaps Matrix and LOTR have similarities... (Elrond and Agent Smith:Hugo Weaving) Oh and maybe Wily the whale might come jump out of the fires of Mount Doom over Elijah Wood! You make me sick.

Your parallels are extremely weak. It's like saying Luke can walk, so the parallel is that Aragorn walks. These weak parallels that are so vague with no important similarities shows there is no connection.

Yoda and Gollum comparison is totally different because Gollum is a completely different contrasting character.

Gandalf did not fight the Balrog with blue and red flaming swords.

If you are going to make comparisons, make sure they aren't made from low-level thinking. LOTR and Star Wars are extremely different.

Gollum bits off frodo's finger in the third book its not in the second book or movie

Star Wars has indeed music by John Williams, but.... the music of Lord of the Rings is by Howard Shore, not Williams.

G Heck
Howard Shore wrote the score for Lord of the Rings, not John Williams.

Get your facts straight.
