"Quincy, M.E. (Semper Fidelis)".

This episode is about a Marine recruit's death and the possible vendetta a Marine drill instructor had for the recruit's father, a Marine Colonel, whom the drill instructor served under in Vietnam.

This episode tells a story of duty, honor, and always being faithful (semper fidelis).

The story begins with a drunken Marine drill instructor marching his recruits in the middle of the night, through a marsh of treacherous land and water.

Afterwards, a young recruit is found dead, and it is believed that he drowned when the platoon was forced to march in the middle of the night.

The drill instructor, a medal of honor recipient, is held to answer to the charge of murder.

The recruit's father, a marine colonel, is the former commanding officer of this drill instructor, and believes that the drill instructor did not have any wrongdoing with his son dying.

initial medical reports and findings list culpability on the part of the drill instructor

the marine colonel, upon hearing this, takes the side of the prosecution, and wants the drill instructor to pay for what happened to his son, the young recruit.

it is believed that the recruit's death was payback for the death of marines who the drill instructor served with, and who were under the colonel's command in vietnam.

it is believed that the drill instructor blames the colonel who, without mercy, marched these marines to their death.

meanwhile, the drill instructor stands affirmed, and realizes that he may have to spend the rest of his life in prison.

the drill instructor accepts this and stands his ground. although many feel saddened and disgraced about what occurred, the drill instructor, remaining faithful to the path he chose, accepts his fate.

quincy realizes that some pieces to the puzzle do not fit, however, and begins to realize more and more, that the drill instructor may not have killed the yound recruit.

Very shockingly, the truth comes out, and it is determined that the young recruit took his own life...and the events that occur are more clear.

The drill instructor (in actuality) finds the recruit dead by suicide. He attempts to destroy all incriminating evidence...

He douses himself in whiskey and other alcohol....to portray his drunkeness.

Walks into the platoon's quansen hut, and begins to yell and scream....then marches them to the marsh and into the night.

The next day, the recruit is found dead, and the story unfolds....

Knowing full well the pain this would cause the colonel, the drill instructor instead lays culpability on himself, and is willing to spend the rest of his life in jail, than have the colonel know the truth.

This episode exemplifies what the Marines are all about. Unselfishness, Honor, Duty, and Faithfulness.
